Perhaps one of the biggest disco acts will play the Port City this year.

The Village People is set to perform at the Wilson Center on July 23rd. The group, which debuted in 1977, recorded five albums and became an international sensation with songs such as “In The Navy,” “Magic Night,” “Milkshake,” “Go West,” “Macho Man,” and, of course, “Y.M.C.A.”

Known for their crazy costumes and suggestive lyrics, one member hails from North Carolina: Randy Jones, the original cowboy, is from Raleigh.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday and start at $40 (plus taxes and fees), and may be purchased online or via Ticket Central for telephone or in-person purchases.
