Animation showcases how Chris Pratt's Mario would play in Super Smash Bros.

Many were initially skeptical when it was first revealed that Chris Pratt would be the voice actor for Mario in the The Super Mario Bros. Movie when it hit theaters on April 5, 2023. While he provided a very unique take on Mario, it's hard to argue with the results of the movie as it now currently stands as the highest-grossing film based on a video game ever.

Needless to say, King Bob recently decided to animate The Super Mario Bros. Movie version of Mario in a Super Smash Bros. environment. It turns out that King Bob was permitted to borrow a fan-made model of The Super Mario Bros. Movie Mario from Awesome3D — who is apparently an 8th grader.

King Bob effectively has movie Mario going through all the attacks and taunts that Mario has access to in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Indeed, Mario ends up showing off his jab series, tilts, dash attack, forward smash at all three angles, down smash, up smash, aerials, specials, and three taunts.

What's particularly interesting about this is that King Bob has used recycled voice clips from Chris Pratt's Mario in the animation. These clips are mostly just grunts, but it feels like the clips fit what Mario is trying to do within the animation itself.

It's worth noting that Charles Martinet has recently stepped down as the voice of Mario. The idea of Chris Pratt lending his voice for a future Smash title sounds crazy, but this animation demonstrates how it actually could work out.
