these watercolors are truly wonderful, but there's one thing to know for anyone who's buying them for the first time.
unlike other sennelier sets, the individual color cakes are not wrapped. they are also not attached or filled into the pans. they are loose. you will hear rattling when you move the box. when you open the box, you'll see loose color flakes. this is normal: i returned my first set and reordered.
the cool thing is that you can arrange the loose cakes in the order you want. color cakes are then held steady drops of water in the pan underneath.
i am happy with the item, but would have liked to know this before buying.

A nice palette for beginners
I bought this set mainly for the box. I have a big set of Sennelier L’Aquarelle professional line and was able find all the matching colors to make a comparison. Five out of the 12 colors have the same pigments and they do look similar on swatches. Orange (645), Cobalt blue (307), and payne’s grey (703) are the three colors that are very different. Especially the orange, they are basically two different colors. For all these La Petite colors, I did notice they were duller when diluted on palette as well as on paper, lacking the depth of the L’Aquarelle paints, which is fully expected. I like the color selection of this set and the colors are vivid and transparent comparing to other student-grade paints I have. I do like the box a lot. Very roomy and sectioned mixing area, and paints surprisingly do not bead up that much which is rare for a plastic palette. A Thumbs up for that 👍🏼. It comes with a brush. It may not be the one in the picture. I took it out and got it mixed up with other unused brushes I have. But I remember it looks like this one, decent but a bit too small. I probably not going to use it. Good thing is the brush slot is very roomy to fit all my regular watercolor brushes, which is not the case at all for most travel palettes. Also, I can see it is easy to swap colors if needed, such as the L’Aquarelle paints, or many other brands that offer paints in 10ml tubes. Overall, this is a good set for beginners.

I'm a beginner who didn't want to spend a ton of money to start learning. These paints are a good quality with solid intensity in a compact/low price format. This will make a good travel option too. The photos are the result of a wet on dry technique, and I'm a total newb, and I'm still learning color theory and mixing as well as technique. This set exceeded my expectations (though I doubt I'll use the tiny brush 'cause i have long fingers).

No tiene leyenda de colores, asi que con la paleta de winsor&newton y otra de marca blanca he podido sacar el nombre de los colores. Si pintais con regularidad averiguais los colores a simple vista y si no, aquí está. Segun la marca va a llamarse de una manera u otra por lo que yo he visto con varios productos de distintas marcas. El viridian segun la marca blanca es ese o es el phtalo green. Igual con un azul, que o es ultramarino o es cobalto. A mi parecer son muy pigmentados. El pincel es para manos pequeñas.
Volveré a actualizar cuando use bien toda la paleta.
