Weird characters ï¿½ï¿½ï in the body of my e-mails!

Question

Regarding the weird characters that look like this ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ . ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ in each e-mail that I sent out, these are a nuisance and very annoying to me and to the recipients of my email, Mozilla Thunderbird told me to do the following:

Question owner

smtp.mail.yahoo.com and pop.mail.yahoo.com

I had this problem last year, it was OK for awhile, and now it has come back again. What's going on? WHY do these characters appear?

Someone please tell me how to get rid of these characters. Where do I find a reply to this question?

It's a character encoding problem.  Here's a google search on this topic.  Don't use the yahoo servers for your att account.  Use what's documented here.
