Suspiro a la limeña prepared by Consuelo Carbajal won first place at the Dulce Lima 2010 costest, aimed to recover traditional baking of Lima gathering housewives, gastronomy students and dessert restaurants looking for the most traditional desserts of Peru’s cuisine.


The second place was for D’Gallia institute with turron de doña pepa and the third place was for yuquitas fritas (fried yucca) by Mr. Gilberto Urbano from restaurant Olla del Sabor Peruano.

The event hosted other attractions such as a chocolate sculpture contest which appointed Expro gastronomic institute as the winner with a replica of the Lord of Sipan; and creative samples of cake’s decoration in which Le Cordon Blue won the first place.

According to El Comercio newspaper, this event is part of a great gastronomic tour named Dulce Peru 2010 which visits cities such as Piura, Arequipa, Chiclayo, Cusco and Trujillo and has the support of regional authorities and great participation of baking masters.

The recipes of winning desserts will be part of a book which will be edited next year.
