The invention relates to a device for delivering an additive, in particular a reducing agent, in an exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine according to the preamble of claim 1.
For the addition, for example, of aqueous urea solution into an exhaust gas line, it is known to introduce into the exhaust gas line a nozzle from which the urea solution can be sprayed. It is, however, difficult to achieve a uniform distribution of the urea solution over the entire exhaust pipe cross section in this way. To remedy this difficulty, it is proposed in DE 197 38 859 A1 to insert an annular spray body into the exhaust pipe in such a way that the exhaust pipe adjoins on both sides. In this case, an annular distribution channel is provided with an inner wall, in which the exhaust gas flows past inside the spray body. On the inner wall open several associated with the distribution channel spray channels, from which the urea solution is sprayed radially inwards. Thus, it is sprayed from a plurality of annularly distributed spray openings, resulting in a uniform distribution of the sprayed liquid in the space enclosed by the distributor ring surface. The in DE 197 38 859 Al proposed device is j edoch complicated and therefore expensive to manufacture.
The object of the invention is therefore to provide a device for uniformly distributed delivery of an additive in an exhaust pipe, which is simpler.
This object is achieved by a device having the features of claim 1.
According to the invention, the delivery points for the aggregate are arranged on an exhaust pipe section along a circumferential line, and a profile is connected to the exhaust pipe section such that an annular channel bounded by the profile and the outer wall of the exhaust pipe section is formed and aggregate fed from the delivery points into the annular channel via an inlet Inside the exhaust pipe section can be discharged.
As a result of this embodiment, the exhaust pipe section can be made in one piece. The profile defining the annular channel together with the outer wall is arranged on the outside of the exhaust-gas line section and covers the annularly arranged delivery points. These can be formed as introduced into the exhaust pipe section nozzle body, which protrude into the exhaust pipe section or terminate flush with the inner wall of the exhaust pipe section discharge side. Preferably, the nozzle body are pressed or soldered into corresponding openings in the exhaust pipe section. The profile is preferably approximately U-shaped and welded or soldered at the open end on the legs with the outer wall of the exhaust pipe. For the manufacture of the device, therefore, only the profile needs to be placed around the delivery points and connected to the exhaust gas. line section to be connected tightly. It can therefore be easily manufactured a dispensing device, which makes it possible to dispense an additive evenly distributed in an exhaust pipe.
An aggregate is to be understood here as a substance which can be distributed in the exhaust gas and which serves primarily for exhaust gas purification. Although the additive may also be present as a solid, in particular as a powder, the device according to the invention is preferably provided for dispensing a liquid medium, for example an organic reducing agent. The device according to the invention is particularly preferably used for dispensing an aqueous urea solution or another solution of a reducing agent suitable for the selective reduction of nitrogen oxides. For this purpose, a corresponding catalytic converter is provided downstream of the device or the exhaust pipe section. The aqueous urea solution can also be in atomized form before being fed to the annular channel, ie. be aerosolized. In particular, it is advantageous to supply the urea solution or the reducing agent under an increased pressure to the annular channel and therefore to spray off under pressure through the delivery points.
If the device has a plurality of delivery points, a particularly uniform distribution of the additive over the exhaust-gas line cross-section can be achieved. There are therefore preferably provided at least four delivery points.
In an embodiment of the invention, the delivery points are formed as a wall of the exhaust pipe section passing through openings. This results in a particularly simple production, since the openings can be mounted in a simple manner, for example, as holes all around. The openings may be slit-shaped or have any other shape.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the openings passing through the wall of the exhaust pipe section are at least approximately circular. Preferably, they have a small diameter lying in the millimeter range or less. Preferably, the diameter is in the range of 0, 3 mm to 3, 0 mm and more preferably between 0, 8 mm and 1, 5 mm. In particular, a pressurized reducing agent liquid can be dispensed or sprayed so finely distributed.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the exhaust pipe section has a flange for connection to the exhaust pipe. Preferably, a flange is provided at both ends of the exhaust pipe section. The exhaust pipe section can therefore be prefabricated for different exhaust systems in different versions, whereby a high degree of flexibility is achieved.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the annular channel is formed circumferentially over 360 ° and in a still further embodiment, the delivery points are arranged at a uniform distance from one another along the circumferential line. In this way, a particularly uniform distribution of the discharged aggregate can be achieved in the exhaust pipe.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the exhaust pipe section is assigned a displaceable inner sleeve, with which the delivery points can be covered on the delivery side. By covering the delivery points by moving the inner sleeve after completion of a delivery of aggregate a dripping of reducing agent liquid can be avoided. For this purpose, the inner sleeve is preferably tight against the inner wall of the exhaust pipe section. The inventive embodiment, the deposition of residues on or in the openings can be further prevented, whereby a high reproducibility and reliability of Reduktionsmitteldosierung is achieved.
The displaceability of the inner sleeve may be given in the axial direction with respect to the exhaust pipe section and / or be realized by a rotatable embodiment.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the profile at least partially enclosing the cooling channel is provided to which a cooling fluid can be supplied. In this way, a heat dissipation of the existing in the annular channel aggregate is made possible by the Kühlfuid and it can be avoided excessive heating by contact of the additive with the hot wall of the exhaust pipe section. In particular, when using urea-water solution as an additive thereby thermal decomposition or crystallization is prevented, which can affect a reliable dosage.
In a further embodiment, the cooling fluid is a resource of the internal combustion engine. Preferably, a coolant is used or a lubricant of the internal combustion engine or air as the cooling fluid. For this purpose, a corresponding fuel supply of the internal combustion engine can be used in an advantageous manner.
Advantageous embodiments of the invention are illustrated in the drawings and described below. Fig . 4 eine dritte vorteilhafte Ausführungsform der erfindungsgemäßen Vorrichtung zur Abgabe eines Zuschlagstoffes .Fig. 4 shows a third advantageous embodiment of the device according to the invention for dispensing an additive.
The in Fig. 1 arrangement comprises a preferably designed as a diesel engine internal combustion engine 1, which receives its combustion air via an air line 2 and emits combustion exhaust gases via an exhaust pipe 3 to the environment. For exhaust gas purification, an exhaust gas catalyst 9 is arranged in the exhaust pipe 3. Upstream of the catalytic converter 9 is a device 6 for dispensing an additive, hereinafter referred to briefly as a dispenser 6, inserted into the exhaust pipe 3. The dispenser 6 may be designed to dispense any, preferably j edoch fluid additive, such as fuel or air. Without limiting the generality, however, it is assumed below that the dispensing device 6 is a device for the delivery of urea. Accordingly, the catalytic converter 9 is formed as a so-called SCR catalyst for the reduction of nitrogen oxides by means of the discharged from the dispenser 6 urea. For this purpose, the dispenser 6 is connected via a metering line 8 to a metering device, not shown, which carries out the needs-based dimensioning of the urea. The metering device can be designed for a delivery of the urea in single-phase, liquid form or as a finely divided aerosol, wherein in the latter case expediently a compressed air support, not shown, is provided. The dispenser 6 comprises an exhaust pipe section 4, which is inserted by means of end flanges 5 and 5 X in the exhaust pipe 3. Urea discharged into the exhaust gas line section 4 is transported by the exhaust gas flow to the catalytic converter 9, where conversion of the urea or ammonia liberated therefrom on the transport route with nitrogen oxides contained in the exhaust gas takes place.
Advantageous embodiments of the dispensing device 6 will be described below with reference to FIG. 2 to 4 explained in more detail, wherein the same or corresponding components are identified by the same reference numerals.
In Fig. 2 shows a first advantageous embodiment of the dispensing device 6 according to the invention in longitudinal section and in cross section, corresponding to the section line A - A shown. As can be seen, has the exhaust pipe section 4 on a circumferential line evenly distributed four as openings of circular cross-section formed discharge points 11, through which urea solution can be injected into the exhaust pipe section 4. The openings 11 are in the radial direction with respect to the exhaust pipe section 4 nozzle-shaped narrowing or conical, whereby a particularly favorable spray behavior is achieved. In a manner not shown may be introduced as discharge points 11 and special spray body or spray nozzles in openings of the exhaust pipe section 4. The injection thus takes place preferably in the radial direction with respect to exhaust gas routed through the exhaust gas conduit section 4, which leads to a turbulence of the injected urea solution and assists in its mixing and evaporation. The distribution of the supplied via the supply line 8 urea solution to the openings 11 via a circumferential annular channel 10, which is bounded by the outer wall of the exhaust pipe section 4 and the profile 7.
The dispenser 6 shown in FIG. 3 differs from the dispenser 6 shown in FIG. 2 through an inner sleeve 12, which, as indicated by the double arrow 12, is axially displaceable and tight against the inner wall of the Abgasleitungs- section 4. It is envisaged that when the metering is stopped or ended, the inner sleeve 12 is displaced into a position in which the openings 11 are covered. In this way, an undesirable penetration or dripping of urea solution from the distribution channel 10 via the openings 11 into the exhaust pipe section 4 and the downstream exhaust system can be avoided. In addition, a crystallization of urea in the openings 11 and thus clogging of the openings 11 is avoided. This is particularly advantageous, since in this way a reproducible and reliable spraying and metering behavior of the dispensing device 6 is achieved. Furthermore, it is advantageous that 12 any existing deposits on the inner wall of the exhaust pipe section 4 can be mechanically removed by moving the inner sleeve. If urea solution is to be metered, then the inner sleeve 12 is pushed back again, so that the openings 11 are released. Instead of the axially displaceable inner sleeve 12, other means for closing the openings 11 may be provided. For example, a rotatable inner sleeve is advantageous. Preferably, this has circumferentially extending slots, which are arranged at a dosage above the openings 11, so that urea solution can be sprayed off unhindered. If the openings 11 are to be covered, then the inner sleeve is twisted, so that the openings are covered.
In Fig. 4, a further advantageous embodiment of the dispensing device 6 according to the invention is shown, which extends through a cooling channel 14 from that shown in FIG. 2 distinguishes dispensing device. The cooling channel 14 surrounds the profile 7 at least in sections, preferably, however, as shown completely along its extension, so that a concentric arrangement results. The cooling channel 14 is preferably delimited, as shown, by a likewise approximately U-shaped profile 15 into which a feed line 16 and a discharge line 17 for a cooling fluid are introduced. These are preferably mounted at diametrically opposite locations so that the cooling fluid can circulate all around. Cooling fluid or lubricating oil of the internal combustion engine 1 is preferably used as the cooling fluid. But it can also be used cooling air or compressed air. By cooling the urea solution via the cooling channel 14, its excessive heating as a result of heat transfer by contact with the optionally strongly heated exhaust gas line section 4 is avoided. Thus, it is easily possible to avoid temperature-induced changes, such as flocculation or blistering, which could affect the accuracy and reliability of the urea dosing.
